60 King William Road – Sands & McDougall Heritage Facade
A heritage facade brought back to life through craftsmanship, colour, and conservation.
This project celebrates the revival of one of Adelaide’s most recognizable historic commercial facades, combining traditional techniques with mineral-based coating systems to preserve character, enhance durability, and ensure long-term protection of the original building fabric.
We completed specialist heritage facade restoration works at 60 King William Road, including traditional signwriting, and the repainting of original heritage render details. The masonry and rendered surfaces were protected using a breathable mineral silicate wash, preserving the integrity of the substrate while maintaining an authentic heritage finish. Decorative elements, including the iconic Horse Invicta, were repainted in contrasting colours to highlight the building’s historic detailing and architectural significance.
